Foreword
The holy shrine of hadrat Imam Abul Hasan Ali ibn Musa al-Reza ( a.s.) ,the eight Shi‘ite Imam, located in Mashhad, is one of the most extensively visited pilgrimage centers in the world. The grand and marvelous building of the holy shrine of Imam Reza ( a.s.) (Astan Quds Razavi) comprises one of the oldest and most beautiful religious monument in the world. The author of the present work has humbly endeavoured to provide the honourable pilgrims of Astan Quds Razavi and other travelers the necessary information regarding the brief history of Mashhad, outline of the biography of Imam Reza ( a.s.) , buildings and historical monuments of the holy shrine, functioning and various activities of Astan Quds Razavi and some useful information regarding Mashhad city. It is hoped that contents of this webloge will serve as a beneficial guide.
